Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains how Open Law (“we”) handles personal data when you visit openlaw.am or open-law.net and when you contact us through the website.

Who we are

The websites openlaw.am and open-law.net are operated by Open Law. For any question about your personal data, or to exercise your rights, write to us at:

What data we collect

  • Contact form: your name, e-mail address, the topic you choose, your message, your consent and the page from which you sent the form.
  • Technical data sent with the form: your IP address and the approximate location derived from it by our hosting provider (city, region and country).
  • Technical logs: when you visit the site, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

We do not ask for special categories of data. Please do not include such data or confidential documents in your first message.

Why we use it and on what basis

  • To answer your enquiry and take the steps you ask for before a possible engagement — on the basis of your consent and of those pre-contractual steps.
  • To protect the website and the form against spam, fraud and abuse, including through your IP address and approximate location — on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
  • To keep a record of our correspondence and to establish or defend legal claims — on the basis of our legitimate interest.

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.

Who receives your data

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting and content delivery, processing of the contact form, sending the e-mail with your enquiry, and the Cloudflare Turnstile anti-spam check. Turnstile does not use cookies for tracking or advertising; it processes technical signals, including your IP address, to tell people from bots.
  • Google (Google Workspace) — the mailbox in which we receive your enquiry.
  • OpenStreetMap Foundation — the map on our home page is loaded from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when the map is displayed.

These providers may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers rely on the safeguards the providers offer, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also disclose data where the law requires it or to protect our rights.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts are served from our own domain. Your browser’s local storage keeps only the latest exchange rate used to convert official fees into euros; it contains no personal data.

How long we keep your data

Enquiries sent through the form, including the IP address and approximate location, are kept for up to 3 years after our last contact with you and then deleted, unless they become part of a client file subject to other legal retention periods. You can ask us to delete them earlier. Technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own policies.

Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you can ask us for access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect processing carried out before. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise your rights, write to us at the e-mail address above.

Children

The website is not intended for people under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
